Transferring
We at Capstone Vision are happy to receive applications from carers who wish to transfer from a Local Authority or another agency and we recognise that there are often valid and entirely understandable reasons for this.
If you have current placement(s) our first priority will be the continuity of their care and the ongoing placement with you should this be part of the care plan. We will therefore look carefully at what the needs of the placement are and how we can help and support you in continuing to meet those needs.
To complete this process we use the Fostering Network’s transfer of carers protocol. This will involve meetings between yourselves, the Local Authority and your current agency to discuss the proposed move, timescales, transfer dates etc. The meeting will then be followed by the usual assessment processes and references from your current agency, together with a review of your carer file. This process usually takes around 2-3 months to complete.
In all such transfers the terms of the placement, for both yourselves and the Local Authority, will be honoured for its duration – after which further placements will be offered under Capstone Vision's placement terms.
If you do not have any current placements, the process is significantly simpler, but will still require references and the assessment process to be completed.
