Carer Testimonials

"As carers with Capstone Vision for nearly 6 yrs now I think the main thing that comes to mind is the staff at Capstone Vision... its the personal thing... we know everyone by first name and they know us. The other thing has to be, if we need help with anything at all, they go out their way to make sure you get it. Capstone Vision is a good agency with good people to work with."
- Pam

"I have been a carer for almost 2 years with Capstone Vision. I have had great support from my social workers and the team. I have regular meetings to ensure that I am safe as well as the child in my care too. There are always lots of training opportunities to enhance my experiences and skills. It has been both challenging and rewarding as a Foster Carer. Thanks to Capstone Vision!"

"Not all children are problem children, Some just need direction and love"

"Great in house training, help on the end of the phone, good support networks. The office team know you by 1st names and understand your own family back ground. There is no pressue to take a child if you are not sure and there is always help and support when a child moves on."
- Mandy

"Caring for children comes naturally, I did not learn it from a textbook. I get satisfaction from knowing that I am being rewarded for something that I actually enjoy doing"
- Karen

"What I appreciate;

  1. Any issues of dispute/difference are worked through with agency staff - real effort is put into arriving at a win/win outcome because you are listened to.
  2. Proposed new placements are discussed with you - you are not pushed into accepting children for whom you have concerns about providing care.
  3. Allowance is paid regularly
  4. Ongoing training is brilliant"
    - Rita

"I have been fostering for Capstone Vision for six years now, I always feel that I am not alone and there's always somebody to look out and help me with the challenges fostering can be.
Great teamwork"

"Capstone Vision is a growing and progressive agency who we have been with for almost 7 years. We want to stay and grow with Vision. We like being with Capstone Vision because it means that our Supervising Social Worker and Manager is truly independent to the foster child's Social Worker. We receive appropriate support and training from which there is lots to choose from. We foster mainly teenagers so we are often kept busy with placements. The fostering allowance coupled with additional treats for the whole family like Theatre tickets to see some great shows adds to the privilege of being a foster family for Vision".
- Ingrid

"It also means Mom is at home when I come in from school"
- Kym (Son)

"Fostering a child can be hard work but this job is so rewarding when you see their progress. The support and advice that we get from our Supervising Social Worker is invaluable. The range of trainings that we have attended at Capstone Vision offer a wealth of information and help towards a professional qualification in looking after children and young people"
- Sharon

"Hi, my name is Lisa, a single carer who has worked for Capstone Vision for a number of years. Capstone Vision has filled a void in my life by placing various children with me. They have always backed me with any difficult placements. They are there for you 24 hours a day and are always willing to help and discuss any problems that may arise during placements. Capstone Vision as a whole ticks all boxes to do with fostering in general."

"Vision for me is exactly what it says - MY VISION. It has always been my vision to care for less fortunate children what ever the circumstances and Vision has fulfilled that in every way possible. So if you have the vision try Vision you will not be disappointed."                                                                                                   -Loraine (Vision carer for 7 years now)
