Community and Social Responsibility
At Capstone Vision we also want good outcomes for the community to which a child belongs and we want to encourage and support charitable endeavour.
Our charitable giving programme currently includes the following initiatives;
- Sponsoring young people in care to visit I-B School near Delhi in India. This school was set up by Amar Dhull, the founder of Vision Fostering, and has 1250 pupils. It has links with four European schools and teams from these schools have visited India for a week in November in recent years to witness the Annual School Festival and the rich Indian culture. In 2008 Capstone sponsored two young people in the care of London Local Authorities to share that experience click here for the Vision November 2008 ‘Latest news’ item).
- Sponsoring young people from I-B School in India to visit England. In 2009 Capstone arranged for two young people and an accompanying teacher to spend ten days in England to particpate in an education exchange programme with Grange Sports College (Bristol) and Wilmington Hall School (Dartford).
- Capstone Vision has a monthly prize that is awarded at random to one of our children in care. The prize is £200 and must be used for the purchase of something that will help the young person excel in education, sports or arts.
- Capstone Vision has made a significant contribution to the development of I-B School in India over the last five years.
- The Capstone office in Stroud has for several years provided financial support to Sangram School in India to assist in improving the quality of its educational service.
